Quick check

  • Make sure the server is running and shows "Online" in the control panel.
  • Check the IP and port: they must match the server details.
  • Make sure you are connecting with the right client version.

Network causes

Port closed

The port may be blocked by your provider or in your firewall settings.

Bad routing

A VPN or an unstable route to the data centre increases latency.

Connection limit

The server rejects connections when the slot limit is exceeded.

Fixes by game

Minecraft

Check that the port is correct and there are no typos in the IP. For a modpack, make sure the versions match.

CS2

Open the server's UDP port and check the console for VAC/anti-cheat errors.

Rust

Check the server.port parameter and enable Steam networking.

Command to check whether a port is reachable
nc -vz your.server.ip 25565

When to contact support

If the server is online but you still can't connect, send support the client log, the time of your last connection attempt and the IP/port. We will check the routing and firewall settings.
