Backups
How to back up your world, restore it and set up automatic scheduled backups.
Making a backup manually
Go to "Backups" → "Create backup". The backup is stored in separate storage and doesn't use the server's disk space. Make a backup before:
- installing or removing mods;
- changing the game version or core;
- uploading someone else's world or modpack.
The number of backups is limited by your plan (shown at the top of the section). When the limit is reached, delete an old backup or buy extra slots in your dashboard ("Upgrade resources").
Restoring
Click the backup → "Restore".
- The "Delete all files before restoring" checkbox wipes the server first. Tick it only if you are sure the backup is complete.
- Restoring takes a few minutes. Don't start the server and don't interrupt the restore until it finishes.
- Stop the server before restoring.
Automatic backups
- "Schedules" → "Create schedule".
- Name it, for example "Nightly backup". Time: minute
0, hour5, all other fields*: a backup every day at 5:00 in the panel's time zone. For "every 6 hours" enter*/6in the "Hour" field. - Open the schedule you created → "New task" → action "Create backup".
Don't back up more often than every few hours: each backup puts load on the server, and with a single slot a new backup overwrites the previous one anyway.
Downloading a backup
Click the backup → "Download". You get a .tar.gz archive with all server files.
