Files and SFTP
How to upload mods, a world or a modpack: through the panel's file manager or over SFTP (FileZilla, WinSCP).
The panel's file manager
The "Files" section is good for small changes: open and edit a config, upload a couple of files, create a folder, extract an archive (right-click the archive → "Unarchive").
Limit: a single file uploaded through the browser can be up to 100 MB. For large mods, worlds and modpacks use SFTP, as described below.
Connecting over SFTP
The details are in "Settings" → "SFTP details":
- Host and port, for example
sftp://node.example:2022(use the exact host shown in your panel). - Username in the form
your_name.abcd1234(each server has its own). - Password: the password of your game panel account. If you have never set one, ask support and we will help you set it.
FileZilla
- File → Site Manager → New site.
- Protocol: SFTP. Host without
sftp://, port 2022. - Logon type: "Normal", user and password as above.
- Connect. Your computer is on the left, the server on the right: drag files across.
WinSCP
Protocol SFTP, the host name and port 2022, username and password as above.
Common errors
- Authentication failed: wrong password or username. The username includes the part after the dot.
- Connection refused / timeout: check port 2022 and that the host is entered without
sftp://. - The server doesn't start after uploading from Windows: executable files may have lost their permissions. Use "Settings" → "Reinstall server" (world files are kept) or contact support.
Before a big upload (a modpack or a world), make a backup in the "Backups" section.
