Disk space

What to do if you run out of space and how to keep the disk from filling up.

Symptoms

  • No space left on device or exceeded its disk space allocation in the console.
  • The world doesn't save, or the game can't finish downloading an update (state is 0x202).

What usually takes up space

  • Modpack and mod archives (.zip, .rar, .tar.gz) that were uploaded and extracted but never deleted.
  • Old logs (logs/, crash-reports/).
  • World copies that the game makes itself inside the server folder (Valheim: worlds_local/*_backup_auto*).

Delete what you don't need in the "Files" section. It's better to make backups with the button in "Backups": they are stored separately and don't use the server's disk.

Adding disk space

Dashboard → "My services" → the server → "Upgrade".
